Successful upgrade to Level 2 of Airport Carbon Accreditation

Limoges Airport, committed to reducing its carbon footprint, obtains its ACA level 2 accreditation!

For the past two years, Limoges Airport has been heavily involved in the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) initiative aimed at limiting its environmental impact by mainly reducing its greenhouse gas emissions.

The airport has just obtained its Level 2 ACA accreditation in the only international certification program recognized for airport carbon management.

This program independently assesses and recognizes the efforts made by airports to manage and reduce their carbon emissions.

Level 2, entitled “Reduction”, requires evidence of effective procedures in carbon management, quantified targets and a three-year rolling average emission reduction.

The airport has set reduction targets, which it has implemented in a carbon management plan, with actions such as;

* the transition to LED lighting; in the terminal building, in the adjoining buildings, but also on the parking lots and to finish airside with the complete renovation of the lighting last November.

* the progressive replacement of its runway equipment by electrical equipment,

* improving the thermal insulation of buildings, notably by installing more efficient double glazing.

“Limoges Airport is determined to meet the challenge of fighting climate change and is committed through the Level 2 ACA to pursue an active environmental policy and to continue reducing its greenhouse gas emissions,” says Philippe THIBAUT. structural manager.
