2009 traffic results.
After 10 years of strong growth that has seen its traffic triple, Limoges International Airport, with 356.156 carried passengers, experienced in 2009, like most French airports, a slight 6, 9 % drop of its traffic.
A significant decline in domestic traffic to Paris and Lyons, due to the economic crisis and the numerous deleted flights, caused a 34% loss of national traffic, with 63,063 carried passengers.
This loss was partially compensated by the good load factors of international flights, with a 1.4% increase of traffic for 278,039 carried passengers.
In July and August, traffic records were even beaten, with sometimes up to 6 daily flights to Great Britain.
The seasonal routes to Nice and Corsica have also worked well with over 15% increase of traffic.
Finally, note the very strong growth for holiday flights, which, with 6000 passengers carried, increased by 75% compared to 2008.
With the introduction of the Public Service Delegation on the Limoges / Paris-Orly route and the opening of new seasonal flights with Flybe and Ryanair, plus a very attractive holiday flights program, Limoges International Airport should consolidate its future in terms of traffic for 2010 and maintain a various flight offer for the benefit of its customers.
