Situation: Scottish coastline town of 547,000 inhabitants and headquarters of the Scottish Parliament.
Edinburgh, which is the capital of Scotland, is a popular town with two sides, the old town and the neoclassic town.


Sightseeing:

  • Edinburgh castle.
  • Palace of Holyroodhouse: founded as a monastery in 1128 is The Queen’s official residence.
  • Leith: historical harbor and district where Scottish gourmet menu amateurs come for their supplies.
  • Arthur’s Seat: old extinct volcano, 250 metres altitude, which towers over the town. 


Things to do:

  • Ghost Tours: nocturnal visits of the old town which Harry Potter and Sherlock Holmes were inspired by.
  • The Scottish Whisky museum: to discover everything about how it is made.
  • Festivals: among all the various festivals, do not miss the lively August-September one, which is about theatre, opera, music, dance and street entertainment.
